A domain is your company's address on the world-wide web (i.e. http://www.yourcompanyname.com ).  A hosted Website (i.e. http://www.wcnet.net/myweb ) is a Website that is used by your company but is within someone else's domain.   Specific domain names can only be used by one person or company at any given time on the world wide web.  If your company's name is Amazon it is very unlikely that you'd be able to register that name since Amazon.com   already exists.  An alternative might be amazonantiques.com or whartonamazon.com, etc.
